CHOOSE WHAT COMES FIRST
When several paths look possible, choosing one gets harder.
Several options may be worth pursuing, each drawing on the same time and people. Together, we look at what the choices would mean for the business and what fits now or later.
When this is useful
A new offer, market or investment may be worth pursuing alongside work that already matters. Different people can see different consequences in the same choice. Looking at these perspectives together can help show what fits the business now and what may fit later.
What we look at
We begin with the choice in front of you and what the business is trying to achieve. Then we look at where time and money are already going, which commitments depend on each other and what would happen if something moved later. We separate what is known from what still needs checking, including places where the owner or team sees the situation differently.
What we do together
The work usually starts with conversations with the owner and the people closest to the issue. We review the initiatives already underway and the information you have, then test the assumptions that could change the choice.
- Narrow the options to the ones worth serious consideration
- Agree what will not be done now
- Name the person who needs to decide or act
- Record the open questions that still need an answer
What you leave with
The aim is a shared view of the choices, the next actions and what can wait. We record the decisions together with any open questions and agree when to review them, so the work can build on what has been learned.
THE OUTCOME
A shared view of what comes first.
The aim is not a larger plan or another list of things to do. Questions that can be settled should be settled. Anything still uncertain stays visible. The decisions are written down, with a date for checking whether they still make sense.
